DOBRODOŠLI! – Welcome to Croatia!

Are you a world traveler, gourmand, and oenophile? If your answer is yes, then this is the perfect journey for you! Food sheds light on people's way of life, their cultural values, and their perspectives on life. It has a way of bringing people together! But how it can be so powerful? If you think about it there are 5 senses used when tasting food and drink. First, you’ll look at it with eyes, then you smell it, touch it and taste it...and you’ll listen to it, right! Whenever we interact with food, our senses are awakened – which means that experiencing food while you're traveling will increase the intensity of the memories built! How beautiful is that! We all travel to experience another culture and to learn something, yet we often end up spending our time in a ‘touristy’ area. It’s important to visit main tourist attractions, but essential to interact with locals to get a true experience of one destination. If we are not spending longer time in a destination, it’s hard to get to know everyday life and this is where the food plays its roll. It is one of the best ways to experience a new destination, get to know the culture and local people. It is an essential part of life and community, there’s no authentic travel experience without it. Local Cuisine gives people an identity – recipes and cooking techniques are passed down from generation to generation. It’s an insight into the history, we learn traditions and societal norms. Lastly, it’s a great opportunity to learn another language – different ways of sayings to open a meal and thank for it your host. Knowing local phrases will not only help you immerse in the culture and built quite a hefty vocabulary but also locals will certainly appreciate it. It’s the moments when we interact with locals that we remember the most, once we get around the table with newly formed friends, open conversation, and share food & good wine! Moreover, positively interacting with locals can promote sustainable tourism by creating mutual understanding between both local residents and visitors! We invite you to join us on this unique trip by land by sea - hosted by Lisa Albert, an American with a Croatia heart, Ines Palac and Goran Kovacevic – both born and raised Croatian. We’ll take you to our favorite places! On a daily basis, you’ll enjoy gourmet star restaurants, the best wineries in the country, and local taverns (off the beaten path) that you would never visit on your own. It’s an unparalleled journey! Welcome aboard! HIGHLIGHTS: SPLIT – BRAČ ISLAND (PUČIŠĆA, ŠKRIP, BOL) – STARI GRAD – HVAR – KORČULA ISLAND – PELJEŠAC PENINSULA (STON & SLANO) – DUBROVNIK

Itinerary at a glance

8-days / 7-nights SPLIT – BRAČ ISLAND – PAKLENI ISLANDS - HVAR ISLAND – KORČULA ISLAND – PELJEŠAC PENINSULA (STON & SLANO) – DUBROVNIK

Day 1 – Sep 6, 2025 – Split
Welcome to Split! The story of Split is already 17 centuries old, dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city Salona, where he wanted to spend the last years of his life. During these 1700 years the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. There’s no doubt Diocletian’s Palace is the top must-see attraction in Croatia’s second biggest city –Split. This UNESCO protected World Heritage Site is actually the heart of the whole city – almost two thousand years old, the enormous palace exists today as a ”living monument” – meaning it’s dotted with quaint shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and people actually live and work within its old walls. And that’s what makes it really special – it’s an ancient Roman palace absolutely integrated into the everyday life and doings of Split and its people.
Day 2 – Sep 7, 2025 – Split – Brač Island (Pučiśća – Škrip – Bol)
Breakfast on board! This morning we sail towards the island of Brač! On our way to Brač we’ll enjoy a swim stop and lunch on board. Brač may be one of many when it comes to islands off the Croatian coast, but this Dalmatian island is unmatched when it comes to natural beauty and must-visit attractions. Beaches of fine white pebbles ribbon its coastline, and cycling paths and hiking trails crisscross the island, passing through age-old villages, lush olive groves, and neat rows of vineyards. Dotting the coast are charming fishing villages offering a taste of the local way of life that carries on once the last tourists have gone.
Day 3 – Sep 8, 2025 – Brač Island – Stari Grad (Hvar Island)
Dobro jutro! Breakfast on board before sailing towards Stari Grad, we’ll enjoy a swim stop along the way. Stari Grad (Pharos) is the oldest town in Croatia. The same year – 384 b.c. when the Greek philosopher Aristotle was born in Trakia, the Greeks from the island of Paros in the Aegean Sea settled the town on the island of Hvar and named it Pharos. Stari Grad (eng. “old town”) is the historical heart of the island of Hvar. The town is situated in a landscape where the blue of the deep bay touches the green of the widely famous field of Pharos, with vineyards and olive groves.
Day 4 – Sep 9, 2025 – Stari Grad – Hvar Town
Breakfast on board while we set sail to town of Hvar on island Hvar. After lunch, disembarking and meeting with our local guide for a private walking tour! Hvar is one of the most sought-after destinations, attracting the rich and famous, something that’s obvious when you see its harbor in the summer, filled with mega yachts. Everyone comes for its beautiful beaches as well as its world-class dining and nightlife scene, but this sunny island has, even more, to offer for travelers of all types. Hvar Town has a historic center with impressive landmarks like Španjola Fortress which offers a panoramic view over the town, harbor, the sea, and nearby islands from the top.
Day 5 – Sep 10, 2025 – Hvar Island – Korčula Island
Breakfast on board and sailing towards the island of Korčula – it is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic Sea, with abundant vineyards and olive groves. Our private local guide will take you on a unique tour of the old town of Korčula. You will hear many interesting stories and legends about the city and the life of Marco Polo, the most famous son of Korčula. It is still the most famous as the birthplace of Marco Polo who was probably born here in 1254, and reminders of him can be seen all around the town, including the extremely interesting Marco Polo Museum which is something you definitively don`t want to miss when visiting this beautiful Dalmatian town. Today it`s a town where you can vividly feel the Mediterranean spirit of people who live and work in this mixture of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture.
Day 6 – Sep 11, 2025 – Korčula Island – Pelješac peninsula (Ston – Slano)
Early in the morning, while breakfast is served, we set sail for Pelješac peninsula Trstenik. On our way we will stop for a swim in one of the many picturesque bays dotting the coast. Upon arrival in Trstenik, we will embark on our gastronomic adventure! Our first stop is one of the most famous wineries – Grgich Winery – Famed for his Grgich Hills in Napa, he resorted back to his Pelješac roots in the late 1990’s, opening his Croatian cellar. After a few glasses of wine and head to meet oysterman, taking a short boat ride to the oyster farm in the middle of the bay enjoying a traditional lunch with a glass of wine in hand – we’ll be tasting this natural aphrodisiac straight from the sea. Talk about a gourmet’s dream!
Day 7 – Sep 12, 2025 – Pelješac peninsula – Dubrovnik
Breakfast on board and sailing towards Dubrovnik. We’ll enjoy our last swim stop, if possible, at the island of Koločep – called by locals ‘Kalamota’ belongs to Elafiti Archipelago, the group of Dubrovnik’s islands. The nearest to Dubrovnik, the island is located just 5 km away from Gruz, the Dubrovnik’s main ferry port. This is also the smallest of the three inhabited islands in the archipelago with an area of just 2.6 sq km (1.1 sq miles) and just under 160 permanent inhabitants. Two small villages, Gornje Čelo on the southeast side and Donje Čelo on the north side of the island are the only settlements.
Day 8 – Sep 13, 2025 – Dubrovnik
After breakfast, sadly it’s time to say goodbye – it will be time to check out enjoy your complimentary transfer to the airport/hotel. We hope to see you soon again! You must vacate your cabin by 9 a.m. but note that if your departure transfer is later than you can ‘store’ your luggage onboard until it’s time for your transfer. SRETAN PUT I HVALA!
